Hello to all
I've had a Z10 since launch and still use it as my daily phone to this day. I've not really had a problem with it until the last couple of weeks or so. Massive battery drain.
I've done some scanning on the phone, and from the battery monitor, the offending article appears to be "Android Player", which has dominated battery usage over all time periods recorded. I'm assuming that this is the bit BB10 OS software that facilitates Android apps being able to be able to be run?
The only thing I've really changed on the phone recently was to go through the excellent thread on adding Google Playstore to the handset, so that I could download the Android version of WhatsApp (which is pretty cack by comparision to the BB version that they killed off!) so that I could continue to use WA. I'm guessing that the Android version of WA is killing off my battery - but how can I find out which app is not functioning correctly and doing this?
I've changed batteries, done multiple battery pulls to fully reset the phone - all to no avail. If I can track down the app that's killing the battery, I'm quite to delete/reinstall, but I'm struggling to track down exactly what it is?
I'm losing about 20% of battery life per hour at the moment, so overnight with the phone merely on standby, where it used to drop from about 100% to about 80% over about 6-7 hours, it now drops from 100% to about 20%, or is just completely drained and is off.
The biggest reported draws on the Battery Usage monitor are:
Android Player - 49%
WhatsApp - 9%
Standby (?) - 8%
System - 3.8%
PIM Services - 1.9%
and everything else is less than 1% over the past 12 hours. The numbers / pattern of usage is largely the same over longer time periods, but the %'s are far higher.
Any pointers to track it down would be very much appreciated.
