So I guess I'm one of THOSE people. I jostled my coffee cup instead of picking it up and a tidal wave of coffee spilled over the side and headed toward the top of the Z10, which I snatched up. There was a tiny droplet on the screen, which I wiped off, and a tiny bead had seeped into the battery cover seam at the top of the device. The Z10 did NOT short but I shut the phone down, pried off the cover and checked, nothing - just that tiny tiny bit along the seam. I twisted up a tissue to gently dip into the headphone jack and the other hole (noise cancelling input?), no evidence of coffee. I put the phone in a ziploc with a couple of silica packets.
Am I being too paranoid or not paranoid enough? How long should I keep it with the silica, if at all? There was no evidence that any coffee actually made its way into the device.
