Here is a quick list of things I love about this device (and BB10) and that are different than other platforms (as far as I know).
1) Keyboard
the keyboard frets and size of keys
the ability to type in 3 different languages in the same sentence.
the ability to input mandarin by drawing the characters on the screen.
The predictive swiping up of words
2) The camera
Time shift is phenomenal. My daughter and her friend (both iPhone users) were blown away by this feature.
3) The Hub
Having all info/notifications in 1 location is a huge timesaver.
4) integration with work email
The Good app for iOS and Android is garbage. Will be nice to be back on a secure and reliable email/calendar service.
5) the feel of the device
The backplate is smooth without being slippery.
The size is bigger than and iPhone but smaller than phablets. The Z10 is the goldilocks size for me.
The weight of the device is heavier than the iPhone 5, which felt like a toy.
6) App management
Super-easy to just swipe up from the bottom to see your running apps. Easier than the iOS "quick double-tap" that has a tendency to vex the less dexterous.
The thing I don't like
1) cut,copy,paste. Still haven't gotten the hang of it. iOS seems easier to manipulate and more intuitive. Any tips would be appreciated.
I have had every iPhone since launch, am probably considered an apple fanboy, constantly try other devices/platforms, but have always gone back to the iPhone, usually in the first 48hrs.
My son even bet me that I wouldn't last a week with this phone. Well, I've had it 60+hrs and haven't even thought about my iPhone! A pretty good start.
