When I was reading BlackBerry Singapore Facebook page, I found a user asking if the OS updates will be pushed directly to the phone without depending on the carriers.
BlackBerry replied,

This is a good news to BB10 Singapore fans. Hopefully the OS updates will be hassle free similar to the PlayBook.
