Ok, many of you may already know this but I though I would share, as I find it a very useful and nice option, so those who do not know it may as well get the info:
Normally to set phone to vibrate mode you d have to sweep down and tap on notifications, then choose vibrate mode.
I just found out today that this can be done in a very simple alternative way, even without waking up the screen...! (very useful for those last time meeting "i-forgot-to-set-my-phone-to-vibrate" moments...)
Simple as that:
Keep pressing the volume down button until the phone reaches silent (or if not looking at the screen 4 secs aprox). Then release and give it another push. The phone will directly vibrate once to let you know it is now on vibrate mode!!! :) Remember, you do not have to even "wake up the screen" to do this.
If with the phone on you get to the 1st screen notification (below) and then hit the button once more. You ll get the visual notification of the second screen and the 1 time vibration to let you know you are good to go discrete.
Also there is a couple of threads http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...ds-still-when-vibrate-only-770740/ and http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...ey-hit-769165/ where it was mentioned that going to vibrate mode through settings, the messages and games kept having sound, which is true to my experience. This method will help you address that problem as well, as the phone goes completely silent and only in vibrate directly. If you change the mode through the volume keys all your apps go silent.
For those that new already, sorry for the thread but its little things like this, that sometimes get by un-noticed since we think of them as common knowledge and well, it took me a week to just think about and try it. It is the simple things that some times make the difference! :)
