Lack of a Google maps app out of the gate forced me to give BlackBerry maps a close look. Happy to say that for managing favourite locations and navigation, I love it. But for local search and navigating on foot or by transit, Google maps is hard to beat. So when I read that their mobile site runs really well on the Z10 browser I was pretty happy. The only glitch was an error message, easily dismissed, relating to the default browser font.
Well, I am happy to report that after the recent OS update there are no more error messages. So when I am navigating by car, I use turn by turn and traffic in BlackBerry maps. When on foot or using transit, especially in foreign cities, the mobile Google maps site works fantastic. (Save the link to your home screen and it will be one of your best free "Apps".)
The Z10 really is a great phone.
