If I change my sim will my contacts go with my old sim ? (that includes my bbm contacts aswell)

So basically, will my contacts/bbm contacts get removed if I take out my sim ? Because I have a pay as you go sim and I am about to put a new sim and I dont want to add everyone back on bbm.
