How do you delete contact on the Activesync server?

Ended up with some dups from Verizon back up assistant so i deleted the active sync acct. On my z10 and exported the contacts in Outlook to excel to clean up the dups. Put the clean contacts back in Outlook and reinstalled active sync. Now I have dups and trips.... I think the issue is not getting the contact data deleted from the server but not sure how. I have a clean copy still in excel
