On Business Insider I read a very touching story about an American Lady
that basically brought the Burberry Brand back from the abyss: it had lost
its MOJO by selling discount franchnises that greatly diluted its quality/
price/brand.
Last year or so I recall the major heat RIM got because it would not cave
into India's requests for security info so India could look at....
Now the NSA hoohah has boiled over (again).
Me, I have rarely used BBM, mainly because my family and associates all
use iPHONES. Occasionally a RIM expert would fold space and inform me
about how to properly use my Storm, Storm 2, or Torch 9850, all using BBM.
I have heard stories about BBM staying up when all else failed.
I got my Z10 about a month ago and I have 10-20 invites in my notification
folder to crank up BBM. I have very many concerns about these invites.
Several others have reported similar notifications and concerns on this forum.
My concerns, both specific and more abstract:
(1) can anybody just send me notifications ?
(2) is RIM behind these invites ?
(3) what would the "new" BBM buy me that texts and emails don't already
provide ?
(4) has in fact RIM diluted its brand by trying to provide BBM for the masses ?
(5) using Z10's BBM, is it as secure as using BBM on Torch or Bold ?
(6) for Z10 and Q10, does not security trump all else ?
