I have had my Z10 since the first week of march and the smartdialing doesn't work. The phone is unable to map contacts stored either in international format or local format to their respective equivalents. I.e. If a number is stored as 08034566970, when same number sends a text message which will come in the international format as +2348034566970, the phone will be unable to associate it with the contact that was stored and vice versa.
This is very frustrating as you have a contact stored and the name doesn't reflect because of this issue. I have updated to 10.1 with the hope that it will be resolved but sadly it is still pending. This is a very basic feature that even very low end phones have by default
I am in Nigeria and we use a 3 digit country code, it seems this problem is peculiar to we that the 3 digit country code, because people from US have 1 digit and most of Europe have 2 digits and they don't seem to have this issues.
I really love BlackBerry and I want this new platform to be successful. I have also been the reason why many people got the Z10 in the first instance, but truth is I know many people willing to dump their Z10 just because of this issue. I work with a mobile carrier here and many customers are very frustrated with the issue and they want to return their devices. The customer service guys try to pacify them, I just don't know how long before they will have had enough.
Does anyone else experience this issue???
