syncing contacts, Z10 with Outlook or other e-mail service

Good morning

When I purchased my Z10, the rep moved my contacts from my old Tour 9630 to the new Z10 and set up sync with both Outlook (an Office 365 trial account) and another e-mail service trial account, confirming that Exchange worked, rather than just IMAP. From that point, newly-added contacts, appointments and tasks synced in both directions, but the contacts moved from my Tour 9630 were not synced. I understood that this was not possible. I waited for 10.1 to see if 10.1 would enable contacts sync from the Z10 to the servers, but it did not. I also checked BB Link 1.1 to determine if it would sync from the Z10 to my PC, and it does not, yet.

So I used BB Link to move my Tour 9630 contacts to my PC and exported them as a .csv file. I then exported my Gmail contacts as a .csv file. I then merged the two .csv files and have started to work on mapping using Excel. I plan to take the properly formatted .csv files and import them into both my Outlook and other e-mail service accounts, after turning sync off on my Z10. I will then wipe my contacts from the Z10 after backing up the Z10. I will then sync the Z10, first with Outlook, and then with the other e-mail service, wiping my Z10 contacts in between. I will compare the results and make a final decision on which e-mail service to use based upon mapping, duplicates and, of course, many other factors.

Am I on track here? I am new to this. From the experience of others, I realize that a mistake or two could really mess up my contacts. Also, is there any way that I can sync the contacts on my Z10 to the cloud, or am I understanding correctly that this is currently not possible.

Thank you for any insights you may have.
