When adding a "New Contact" on Z10 it becomes associated with or "Linked" to:
1- Local
2- SIM
3- Email Accounts (any email accounts you set to 'sync' contacts
I have 3 email accounts on Z10, 2 of which are currently set to 'sync' contacts.
Therefore, when I add a new contact, it becomes associated with or "Linked" to 4 areas:
1- Local
2- SIM
3- xxxxxxx @ gmail.com
4- xxxxxxx @ live.com
Wow........ so now I need to determine where I really want my new contact "Linked" so that it will sync properly (if desired) or just maintain it on "Local".
I decided that I simply wanted to maintain New Contact on "Local".
- I set up New Contact (Jim Bob) and click Save
-Then I open New Contact >>> Links

-I find the 4 "Links" listed above
-I delete the 3 "Links" that I don't want

Now I find that the contact has split into 2 contacts. One New Contact with the 3 Links that I eliminated, and one New Contact with the remaining "Local" link.

So ..... I simply delete the "New Contact" that is associated with the 3 Links that I had eliminated and now the contact is set how I want it.

With only the one "Local" link:

Am I missing anything ?????????
Is this how it works for you if you've tried ??????
I think in an update of BB 10 we would have the option of establishing these links when we set up a New Contact. It would make it easier to deal with this process..
